“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”

I wish there were music notes on a keyboard so you’d know that I’m quoting a song.

I love Christmas. I love December. I love to get out the boxes of Christmas stuff and be reminded of things I inevitably forget about that make me all sentimental and happy. I love decorating the house… not just for me, but for hearing the squeals of delight and excitement it brings to my girls. And this year, I get to see Clark’s face fill with wonder as he sees the lights and bright, colorful things fill the house.

He joined right in with the girls last night, playing with golden bead garlands while I wrapped ribbon through the tree. (I should have got a picture of that. Dangit).

The tree is now ribboned and beaded and ready for ornaments.

The countdown is well under way

As is the advent calendar

Now, I need to make lists.

It’s crazy here, weather-wise. Roads are closed everywhere. It took Nate an hour + to get home from the early morning religion class that he teaches. It’s usually an 8 minute drive. There’s water everywhere. Nate said that when he was on the road, the oncoming cars were hitting puddles that sprayed water over the top of his car. It’s supposed to rain heavily until Wednesday, and there’s already flooding all around us. We’re on a hill, so the only thing we have to worry about is our garage, which is at the bottom of our steep driveway. And if we were responsible homeowners, and had our gutters cleaned out, we wouldn’t even need to worry about that.

I have a lot to tell/show, but I’m ready to get on with my day, so I’ll see you all again tomorrow.

Happy Christmas season!

    Hi Laura,

I’ve never read your blog before, only glanced at the picture once. It’s great! I have NO time to blog, it’s a shame. I had a fun time at your spinning party. I hope I wasn’t annoying you with all my questions (you always seem so annoyed by me, what’s up with that huh??? ha ha) u blog to the world, but you’re probably alot shyer than me!!! well I think you’re such an awesome fibery role-model! : )

Any chance I can get you to help me wash my first fleece (i’m petrified of screwing it up) I loved seeing all your locks in a row… that sounds like a nursery rhyme. I know you probably can’t with all your kiddies to care for.

I’m just working right now, taking my lunch, I do my work from home which is why you always see me out, I need to socialize because I don’t get that from my work like most people.

Hope to talk to you soon! dkw
