Taking forever

I’ve started teasing my romney locks in preparation for carding, and it is taking an extremely long time. I need to fluff this…

into this.

I’ve spent the past couple of evenings working on it, and have only done 4 1/2 ounces. There has to be a better way. I want to get to carding and spinning it.

On the socks, I’ve finished turning both heels and am ready to pick up and knit the gussets.

Now I’m off to return a dress and hopefully make it to playgroup before helping out in Veronica’s class at school just after lunch. My stomach is acting up, it’s cold and gray outside, and I just want to stay home.

When I read that you started “teasing” your wool…it made me laugh out loud. I know..I know. I’m so mature but all I could envision in my head was you sitting there and shaking your finger at the pile of wool and making fun of it until it fluffed up.

I hope your tummy is feeling better. I am so sick of the cold and gray too. I always get a little sick of it this time of year. It is just never ending. ANd the rain last night…it pounded SO HARD.

I think you’re going to finish your socks before I finish mine! I haven’t had any knittng time in the last 2 days. I’m starting to jones a little. LOL.

L- I just pull the locks apart into 2-3 lock-ettes as I feed them into my drum carder with good results… by combining the two activities I get a little less bored with the activity. BTW, my drum carder instructions also imply strongly I should wine and dine my drumcarder on Thursday evenings. It still works fine even though I went out to play with friends last night! -B
