Health Group- Year 4, week 38

flowertreebudding1.gif

We’re a little late, but we’re here with Health Group. I exercised Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs of last week. Ate too much junk.

My pants are tight. I’m really annoyed.

How was your week?

My elbows/arms are killing me. I’m now willing to go to the doctor, but I don’t know when I’ll find the time. Clark and Abby have birthdays this week, and while Clark’s is going to be easy, Abby’s having a dinner party for 10 or so.

In the guitar department, I’m now looking at Taylors. They’re amazingly easy to play, and really well made. They feel good, just holding them. I’m thinking that even when I get my arms fixed, I might as well take it as easy on them as I can to avoid a repeat. A low action guitar should help? They make a cedar and mahogany, grand auditorium that I’m going to try to hunt down today. I like that wood combination, but haven’t tried it in a Taylor yet.

Hey, sorry to hear that your arms are still hurting you! I had hoped that they would get better so that you could get back to knitting and playing the guitar.

Are we still on for tomorrow (Tuesday)? I understand if you need to cancel because of planning or pain. Just let me know.

Hey, I hope your arms feel better soon! Well, you’ve inspired me to finally sign up for the community guitar lessons here in Monroe. I’ve had a guitar in my closet for years and always thought it would be cool to learn to play it. You seem to be having so much fun with it that I thought, why not? It’s on the same night as my knit night, but at the same location (different room) so I can pop on over there afterwards. It seemed like perfect timing to me – wish me luck! Oh, and a very Happy Birthday to Clark and Abby!

Go to the Dr.!!!! I had similar problems several years ago and I waited a year with the pain never going away. Physical therapy didn’t do anything except aggravate the problem which in the end to the Dr what they needed to know. I ended up having surgery on my shoulder and it was the best thing I ever did! I just started a few months ago with the other shoulder and arm hurting and already have my appt. set. If it’s enough to put your knitting down, it’s time to seek advice from a trained orthopedic surgeon. You do need to impress the importance of your knitting to you as many Doc’s will pass this off as something you can live without! Hard to imagine!!!
