Come knit with me

Fridays are the nights I get to knit-I-mean-work at Columbine Yarns. I am really looking forward to it. I have some friends coming, and Cher took out an ad in the local newspaper so who knows what to expect. Nate made up some flyers, and I have to say, I’m uncomfortable with them.

In case you can’t read the bottom copy, it says, “SPEND FRIDAY NIGHTS KNITTING WITH LAURA OF POORMISSFINCH.COM • SAVE 10% on all purchases* • EVERY FRIDAY, 4 – 9 PM • COLUMBINE YARNS • 720 238th SE Suite E • Bothell • 425.806.8129 *Excludes clearance items and spinning wheels”

It makes me out to be famous or something. I said no, but he persisted, and then came home with a stack printed up, so I guess I’m taking them to the store tonight. I wonder what Cher will think. I’m guessing she’ll like it. She’s been talking about linking my blog on her website, and she wants to play the whole thing up. Considering I’m only going to be there through the end of the year, I don’t know, it feels weird. I’m loud, but I’m not flashy.

So anyway, come and knit with me if you’re anywhere close. It’ll be fun. Last week, I made peanut butter cookies. I think that tonight, I’m going to bring popcorn and some frosted, pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies. Maybe. I haven’t frosted them yet, so there’s no guarantee.

    Hi Laura,
After reading Nate’s flyers I’m sad I can’t go…a bit too far from Denmark 🙁
I never got started on the lilly of the valley shawl. I started on a Harry Potter Sweater for Johan (6 years old son)…and then the other day I bought the kit for the pumkin-hats from the morehousefarm.com. In Denmark we usually make strawberry-hats for the kids. I hate getting too many projects at the same time. How do you manage to do all your projects at the same time ? I’m amazed! Best regards, Signe

Hee, well, I’ll be there, especially now that I know you’re bribing, uh, bringing food for me, uh, us to eat. I can’t wait to see the new hat and I think it’s sweet that Nate made these flyers for you. Maybe I’ll use one to get the needles I need for my Weasley sweater.

Woo-Hoo! Celebrity time! Next thing you know, you’ll be appearing on “Hollywood (Mitered) Squares” knitting! Everybody have fun tonight!

They’re AWESOME! So’s that husband of yours! It’s OK to be modestly shy about it all, it’s just the way you are and we love that about you! However, YOU’RE awesome also, and it’s OK to have the spotlight once in a while, so enjoy it.

You make the best popcorn so I am definitely coming tonight! Just kidding, I’d come anyway – but you do make great popcorn (she makes it the old-fashioned way). I don’t have a clue what project I am bringing as I finished Art’s Brioche hat last night. YAY! BTW- for public knowledge, there is NOT an error in that pattern in Weekend Knitting, like the rumors are saying on the internet. You just have to be able to interpret what they are telling you to do. It took a few attempts, but I got it done.
Looking forward to tonight and to meeting Heather, so I guess I’d better get to work!!!

I’d go however it is too far from down here on the East Coast.
What a wonderful supportive husband you have.
