I have a headache

Wow, I slept in. I just woke up. Nate has left for work, the kids are half way through Finding Nemo, and I’m rubbing my eyes. Nate and I have been staying up late. We watched the extended version of Return of the King when it was released, and decided to start the whole trilogy over again, watching a disc a night. Last night we watched the first disc of the Two Towers. Good stuff. I’m tired.

SO, I took some pictures of Olivia’s and Veronica’s dolls yesterday.

If you recall, I showed Veronica’s doll to you awhile ago, but her hair was different. I didn’t much care for the doll. After making the braids on Olivia’s doll, I decided to try again with Veronica’s doll’s hair, and amazingly enough, it made the whole doll better. I’m pretty happy with it.

Jenny asked, in yesterday’s comments, about names. Abby’s doll is named Christine, Veronica’s (on the left) is named Laura (wish it wasn’t), and Olivia’s is named Lydia.

A note about the dressed doll pattern (as opposed to the naked doll, that you then make clothes for): I’ve made it twice now, each time with sleeves. All I did was start the I cord with the dress color, and an extra stitch, and then decrease down and switch colors when I wanted the flesh to begin. I highly recommend it.

Sorry about the headache, sweetie. That’s happening a lot lately, isn’t it?
We also got LOTR trilogy. We were going to start disk one of Two Towers last night but realized that it was too late. I ended up staying up way past 1 am anyway. 🙁

ok, so i looked and looked and looked for that issue of interweave knits, and i can’t find it anywhere. it’s not even on the interweave website! summer 2002 is NOT a back issue they have available, not is that a year that ANY of the libraries around here have. *big pouty face* would it be breaking the law for you to send me a copy of this pattern, if i promised to not sell any of the dolls i make? i’m desperate here!

    Oh! Such lucky girls! :p
I’m jealous!! My mom never made me a single hand-made gift in all my life. What very awesome dolls! And an even more awesome mom who makes them!

I just got word from Interweave Knits, that you can purchase the Best Friend Doll pattern. Here’s the info:

    Dear Laura,

Thank you very much for your sensitivity to this issue. You are right
that it is a compromise of copyright law for you to copy the pattern.
And yes this issue is out of print. A copy of the pattern can be gotten
through our office for a $4.00 shipping and handling fee. Email Debbie
Mountford at [email>debbiem@interweave.com[/email> for the copy. Thank you again for
    your help.

    Best regards,
    Susan
