Um, what?

While I was truly not looking forward to hearing that Clark is allergic to most things edible, I was expecting it. The test came back negative for everything, as in, he’s not allergic to anything, food or enviornment. Not even milk.

This scares me. What the heck is wrong with my child?

His stomach always hurts. I don’t know where to go from here. And I can tell you right now, he’s not going to be thrilled at the prospect of more blood tests.

Dr. is out ’til Monday, so I get to spend my weekend “trying not to worry about it.”

Lovely.

I was actually kind of expecting celiac’s and Lactose intolerance. They did test for gluten allergy right? That is weird. My prayers are with the cutie.

Have you tried probiotics? He may need to replenish his gut and intestines with probiotics especially if he has ever been on antibiotics. Just my 2 cents. Hope he gets better! ~heidi

If they did the traditional allergy testing he might not test for gluten or casein at all. Connor tested negative for both and most of the kids I know test negative as well. They have a sensitivity…not a true allergy. What might be happening (which is what happened with Connor) is that he is havign a reaction to how his body is breaking down the foods…not the foods themselves. That’s what would happen to Connor. He could eat wheat and then 3 days later he would react to it. It wasn’t the wheat…it was the way his body processed it and then caused swelling and discomfort because he couldn’t break down the food properly. So….I would suggest a naturopath if you could see one. The thing to do for finding food sensitivities is an elimination diet. That would give you so much more info than the blood test anyway.

Don’t worry you’ll figure out what’s happening to his poor little tummy.
If you need to talk (or vent or CRY!) gimme a call 🙂

I would suggest a naturopathic doctor (word of mouth is best). As their bodies are little, children react very quickly to that type of therapy. Gluten, casien, sugar, food colour are big culprits.

I think Pamela saw a good naturopathic doctor with her son… Does he have trouble with constipation? Maybe there’s a blockage… Or maybe he swallowed something he shouldn’t have and forgot to tell you about it… Did they give him a stomach x-ray?

The daughter of my friend had the same problems. After a dozens of tests, they figured out, it was “helicobacter”. It’s a kind of bacteries. I think it’s called the same in english, may you ask your doctor for the test.
    Wish you luck,
    Kerstin

I can’t have milk due to stomach problems….I am also sensitive to smells that cause my stomach to hurt. I have ibs and it can act up at anytime..smells, food, stress. praying for your little boy!

have you considered anxiety? there’s been some changes in your family lately and someone just went from being the baby and only boy…to not. Toddlers can experience anxiety and it can be ‘shown’ as stomach problems.

Heliobacter is what causes ulcers, and they can test for it… he’ll have highly acidic stomach contents. it might even ‘hurt to poop’ b/c of high acid content. So, if he’s having constipation it might be b/c it hurts.
