Finally! What a slacker.

Yeah, I know. I’m finally getting to mailing out stitch markers to the winners of our giveaway. It’s kind of fun, because I get to mail out to Japan, Portugal and Singapore for the first time ever. And Finland and the UK for the second time :-).

This is amazing to me, because I don’t travel. I haven’t seen much of the world at all, except for the couple of vacations my generous father-in-law has hosted. I got to go to Israel. And there was that one time when we drove from New York to Nebraska on a church history tour. But other than that and a couple times in Canada, I haven’t been anywhere. The fact that I have contact outside of my little world is so cool. The east coast is even beyond the scope of my imagination, but Singapore? I don’t know anything about Singapore. What was really weird was when I got a hit from a country I’d never even heard of. I can’t even remember which country it was. Dangit. Don’t ruin it for me and tell me they were spammers. I’m enjoying my bubble.

Here’s the scene on my kitchen table yesterday. At this point, I was close to halfway done.

Olivia decorated the cards.

There were a couple of times, (Betsy and Barbara Long) when requested colors fit a particular set perfectly. It was so fun! In Betsy’s case, I wasn’t sure I was going to send out that set, because you have to like those colors together, although they’re among my favorites. When I got her email, it was serendipity.

I too think it’s cool that knitting blogs allow us to connect with people from around the world. Since I grew up in Europe and now as an adult lack the travel opportunities I had as a kid, I love getting to know people from everywhere and enjoy hearing about everyday life in various countries. (By the way, my best friend growing up now lives in Seattle).
The cards are really cute. Olivia is quite the artist!

How nice to read this entry – True that the blogsphere makes the world a seemingly smaller place. Very interesting. I like the look to the stitchmarkers and the cards – Olivia is really tallented.
    Regards
    Barbara
p.s. was very happy to read that your C8 does fit you!

I love getting to know all of the knitters/crocheters out there! I don’t know anyone around me that knits that I can just sit and talk to about it. I have my mom, but I’ve past her in the knitting. But I still talk to her and she tries to understand. But I love talk to people from way far away, it’s fun.

The stitch markers look great! And Olivia’s cards are so cute! She’s very talented, you may have an artist on your hands 🙂

You definitely have an artitiste on your hands (several in fact) and it will be interesting to see where it takes her as she grows up. They cards are AWESOME Princess O!!! Good Job!

How fun to send to around the world! I bought yarn on eBay once that came from Turkey, I thought that was cool. I’ve known some business clients that globe-trot but not in the crafting realm. Way cool to think that we are all enjoying this around the world. I guess that is one reason I like Peace Fleece’s efforts so much.

Did Peter get his satchel in Italy?
