Lack of desire

On Thursday, I bought a bunch of red Red Heart for the baby’s Superman blanket. I did some swatching.

Sigh.

It’s just not fun to knit with. I might just be too distracted with house stuff to really settle in and get a groove, but, I’m not feeling motivated to try.

I was super-productive yesterday and this morning with spackle, paint, and phone calls. And yesterday, I managed to eat three good meals! My stomach is still very much bothering me today, so I’m making some iced herbal tea, and I’m hoping that will get me through.

Today, I need to texturize, paint, pack, and make more phone calls. And possibly nap.

You know what just struck me? Maybe your tummy is bothering you because of the paint and other house stuff. I know when I was pregnant that those smells bothered me.

    I love that color.

i don’t know how you do all the things you do! You are so motivated and energized.

You may not feel that way, but you are superwoman compaired to most of us.
I’m lucky if I can get myself a shower, and i only have 2 kids!

That red heart stuff is not soft….I hate it so much that I didn’t capitalize the name here. I dries out your hands and when you get it against your face or skin when used in an afghan or scarf, it feels really rough. Some of their yarns are wonderful, but not this one…..in my opinion, that is….I agree with the other lady….get away from the smell of paint, etc……hope you feel better soon………..”Soon to be Olympian” (I can’t wait til Friday) Sandy in South Dakota

I’m not really around paint smells. The little bit of touch up I’m doing takes only a few minutes per color, and it’s just touching up corners and nicks, so I’m not full-fledged “painting”. I’ve already cleared what I’m doing with my doctor’s office.

My stomach hurts when I eat. It has for months.

I’m making something (for your baby actually) with Bernat Satin. 🙂 It’s also 100% acrylic, but for some reason much softer than Red Heart. I just discovered it when I was looking for the perfect colors – I’m using Crimson, Skipper, and Sunrise. Here’s the website although the colors are much brighter than pictured here: http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=satin&SPP=999&PHPSESSID=9dd66ac504d6ae1967bb014877055457
It also seems to have good stitch definition which I know was something you were concerned about. I got it at Ben Franklin, but I’m sure Jo-Ann’s has it as well if you want to try it.
Go Olympic knitters! Woo-hoo! There’s more than 3000 of us now!

You deserve a cape yourself! Sounds like you’re performing superhuman feats in getting all this work done so quickly 🙂

Also, I finally have pictures up of my Esther Williams hat, which I actually finished back on Dec. 14th or so but didn’t manage to snap a photo of before I came back to Chicago. Thanks for a great pattern – I see many more of these in my future!

There’s an acrylic yarn called TLC that is pretty soft. It also comes in heathers.

Is the superman blanket from a book or from your head? You are so creative I wouldn’t doubt it being from your head!!

Laura, am a nurse, not that that gives me much credibility, but your stomach could be hurting when you eat because of 1. allergy to food, 2. an ulcer,3. combination of both. The best way for you to get a good idea if it is an ulcer is to take two pepto bismol when your tummy starts to hurt, and if it relieves the pain, there is a good chance it is an ulcer. There are Natural ways to make it go away, all involving changing your diet to mostly raw foods, etc. Check with your midwife/ob, healthcare provider about the pepo bismol. I know this will sound strange if you have not ever done it , but raw veggie juice with cabbage juice as the main juice, really, really works!!
