Small window of time

image

I’ve been thinking that the next week or two is all the time I’m probably going to have to knit for the baby. A week before we move, I’ll need to re-focus on packing. Then we’ll move and I’ll be unpacking and organizing until I deliver. So, it’s a good thing this blanket appears to be going fast. I’m approaching the half way point, and I’m still really enjoying the knit.

In moving news, it looks like we may be trying to find a home for our dog. If anyone is interested in an extremely energetic, sweet, humungous, gorgeous golden retriever that needs socialization with other dogs, email me. I won’t hold anything back. I’ll give you the full scoop as to what his positives and negatives are.

I would be interested if you’re on the east coast- e-mail me if you are. I don’t have any other dogs, though. We have 4 cats. One of them acts like a dog, though.

Why can’t you keep the dog? 🙁

He’s sweet tempered, but extremely hyper. He weighs 80+ pounds and steps on the kids, knocks them over, etc. The staircase to the basement in the new house is hardwood, and as we get closer to moving, I can’t help thinking that it’s inevitable that at some point, he’ll knock one of them down them, resulting in a more serious injury than is possible in our house now.

I don’t want to risk that.

In my opinion, we have done most everything that is within my power to do to try to help him, and now I have to think about my family.

explanation – my flatmate is doing a wonder-woman jumper. Same colours, similar effect, etc. She had 13 bobbins last time I checked, but its looking ace.

I think it’s irresponsible when people get puppies, don’t think about the type of breed they are and whether that fits in their lifestyle (hello – young golden retrivers are hyper!), don’t train them properly or give them the activity they need, and then want to dump them when things aren’t going so well. When you adopt a pet, they are a responsibility you agreed to take care of – not an item you can dispose of when you don’t want it anymore.
And then you make a post today where you pride yourself on how you fix things up rather than throw them away. A little bit of the hypocrite.
Why don’t you train your dog and keep it??
I give you credit for looking for a good home for him becuase a lot of people get too busy to look and just dump them at shelters. But really you should have though a bit more about what you were getting into when you took him in. Please think before you get another pet.

    Wow. That’s pretty harsh.

I just love it when people get all judgemental and self-rightous then don’t have the courage of their convictions to sign their NAME and OWN IT.
Geez, it really makes you want to take them so seriously doesn’t it? lol
Don’t let it get you down. I hope you find a good home for your doggie.
