HOW many weeks?

That would be 10.

Clark is 10 weeks old now, and completely charming. He started smiling last week, and we’ve been enjoying it. He’s had a happy sort of expression for a number of weeks, but it took a little longer to break into actual smiles. And he’s a bit under 12 pounds now, dropping a little bit in percentile.

What do you think about Argyle Christmas stockings? I think it could be fun. I’ve always loved argyle, but never knit nor worn it. I was looking through some of my vintage knitting pamphlet/books looking for retro-mod sock ideas to convert to stockings when I saw the argyle.

I think I like.

Also, Amy Lu suggested a knitalong for Christmas stockings. What do you think? Is anyone else doing it yet? I don’t know how to do the fancy knitalong websites I’ve seen. And to be honest, I don’t want to spend the time to figure it out, or in my case, make NATE spend the time to figure it out for me. I’d handle it like I have in the past, which is to have participants email me before Friday each week with any pictures they want me to post on their behalf, or to let me know to link to their blog on Friday’s post, Friday being knitalong day.

I think I’d be up for it. Anyone interested?

Knitalongs on blogger are super easy. Just have people join and you give them access to the blog for updates on their own.

He is AWFULLY CUTE! I think all of your kiddos are dolls, and I think he looks a lot like your girls. Man, I want a baby. Oh, I have been meaning to mention this website: http://www.myfooddiary.com to you. It is an online calorie counter/exercise monitor that is $9 a month that I LOVE. You should check it out if you are finding writing your daily food intake down to be helpful.

    10 weeks already!
    My, how time flies.
    And, our girls are 5!
    Unbelievable.

Would the knitalong be for only Christmas themed/colored sock only? If it includes Christmas gift socks too I’m in. Although I guess some red and green socks would be cool too.!

    PS. Clark is ADORABLE!

My goodness how quickly the time goes. Before you know it he will be running around with your adorable girls. What a cutie!

Chez moi, the Christmas stockings were knit a few years ago. Each stocking is unique, but each was knit from Brown Sheep worsted – white and a different color for each of us.

Each has its own pattern, but all are about 50% white, 50% color, and are based on a diagonal design inside a diagonal grid.

They are green, blue, purple and red…

    They’re quite lovely.

Perhaps I should dig them out and photograph them.

The first one IS argyle-ish, knit in the round.

I’m up for it. I really would like to make some christmas stockings for the family this year! Maybe try my hand at intarsha (okay, okay, duplicate stitche) with names

Would you like to co-organize it? I have no idea what I’m getting myself into, but I think I can handle it :o)

Clark is such a cutie pie! I can’t believe he’s 10 weeks already!
I’m not sure I want to do stockings this year – if I knit them, I’m pretty sure I only want to knit them once… which means I might want to wait until I’m sure my family is complete (you know, like no more kids!) On the other hand, I might get burned out if I did them all at once so maybe I could just make some nice ones for the adults this year… then later the kids could have some input on theirs. It’s a possibility. 🙂

Can’t believe it’s been ten weeks since we were following all the updates about Clark’s delivery!!! Thank you for sharing with us. Since my kids refuse to reproduce (twins, 33 yo next week), I live vicariously through your blog. I agree with Mia, your kids are such dolls!!

The KAL sounds like a great idea. Maybe, I’d actually get the stockings that I’ve been meaning to start, started & finished before another Christmas goes by!! 🙂

Just wanted to say ‘hello’ – I’ve been popping by to see your baby pictures. Clark is so adorable – happy days!

Your baby is the cutest little thing ever. I just had twins 3/29/06. How do you find the time? Somebody is always crying or yelling mama, that would be my two year old. What I really want to know is what is a knit along…I am very intrested.

  17. Morgen Says:

Count me in for the KAL!

YAY!! MY BEST FRIEND HAS A SERGER!!!
Have I told you lately how much I love you??

I’d love to join the Christmas Stocking Knitalong. My great aunt knit my mom and her 5 siblings stockings from the Knit-o-Graf patterns and continued the tradition when she knit them for my brother and sister and I. This past Christmas I finished my first knit stocking for my 3 1/2 yr old niece to match the family set. With our Christmas packages this past year my aunt kindly sent a matching stocking she had knit for my boyfriend as well so, with that one off my list I’m on to the stocking for Niece2 and I’d like to finish hers for this Christmas. When my older niece received hers in the mail she immediately wondered where her younger sister’s was and decided she’d share hers, so cute! This year I’d love it if they both had one (and it took me 1, no maybe 2, years to finish the stocking for Niece1) so I think my first KAL will be the motivation I need. Love the blog!
