mohair lace

image

I spun 25 yards of 2 ply laceweight (most of the time) with some kid mohair I had, then I swatched that pretty shawl in Victorian Lace Today.

I’m pleased with it, however I learned that I need to be more selective with the fiber I card to avoid lumps in the rolag as I’m spinning.

This morning, I’m heading to Kingston to pick up more corriedale and silk at the Artful Ewe. While I’m there, provided Clark lets me, I’m going to try out some of her Kromski spinning wheels. Namely the Sonata and the Polonaise.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and suggestions on Saturday’s post. I know I need to get the girls working more. I believe the Fly Lady is very helpful, although I haven’t checked her out yet, but I’ve heard great things. My grumpiness on Saturday got a lot done in the house. Everyone takes me more seriously when I’m in a bad mood. And that’s a shame, but it got results.

    Your laceweight is beautiful!

Flylady is great- if you look around on her site, I believe she has tools for kids as well. You may also want to check out the House Fairy (https://www.housefairy.org/) for the girls. I don’t have kids, but FlyLady was promoting it, so I checked it out- it’s a little cheesy, but I’ve read tons of testimonials to the effect that it works wonders!
