I bought a book.
I got it signed by one of the totally cute old ladies that wrote it.
I haunted her booth.
I fondled things.
My mother-in-law loves braided rugs. They’re a little too “traditional country” for my house, but I still really wanted to make them. Then, in flipping through the book, and now checking out this page on the website, my creativity is in overdrive, and I could totally make one funky enough for our decor.
I’m having trouble sleeping.
They had a rug in progress in their booth
and a braid in progress so you could really see how it’s done
and I need to do it.
And I apologize for not doing the drawing for Mary’s Mitts yet. Things have been so crazy. But we’ll do it this week for sure.

Oh how I love braided rugs…they are so rustic and cute. I LOVE that they have funky patterns to make. I hadn’t even considered that…I always thought htey would be fun with totally outragesous colors…but that’s even better! I AM SO THERE. All it is is braided roving??? OMG. When are you going to have a rug braiding party? I’ll be there in a heartbeat :o)

WOW!!! I can’t wait to start pawing through my roving and seeing it in an entirely new light! What a great idea. I’m sure that a funky rug wouldn’t be too hard make at all! Off to buy the book…..

Wow, I’m trying to slap myself from clicking on the button to buy the book. This could totally suck me in…

Wow, that is really cool. I didn’t realize you could make them with roving! I guess I always thought braided rugs were made with fabric scraps like rag rugs or something. I’ll bet these were much nicer!

I’ve been obsessing over these rugs too! I haven’t seen many other people writing about them though. I can’t believe you got to see their booth, that must have been wonderful! I think the book is excellent and it’s such a great idea.
