Thanksgiving preparations

So much to do, and I’m completely behind in every imaginable way. Except for the grocery shopping.

I was supposed to clean my house and do laundry on Monday.

I was supposed to make gingerbread turkeys and pumpkin pies yesterday.

I am supposed to make 6 dozen crescent rolls today.

And as it turns out, I’m doing ALL of those things today. And there will probably be some carryover into tomorrow.

Dangit. Dangit. Dangit.

BUT, the laundry is well under way. I’ve cleaned my counter and reloaded it with the necessities for pumpkin pie.

The boy is SO going down for a nap as soon as this post is finished. I am eating healthy food and drinking lots of water to maintain my energy.

I WILL PREVAIL!!!!

I will. I will. I will.

I bought yet another large container of Band Aids this week. We have a serious case of Band Aid abuse in this house. I made rules. I wrote them on the box. It amused me. I took a picture.

I went to a spinning guild’s fiber sale last night (I made the decision to go last week, thinking I’d deserve a break from all the Thanksgiving work I’d be doing, which clearly hasn’t been happening. I went anyway). I almost came home with a loom. Nate is thrilled that I didn’t, which probably explains why he seemed so pleased when I showed him these.

A pound + to spin,

And a pound to dye.

And then spin.

And I’m stuck baking.

Dangit. Dangit. Dangit.

Pillsbury makes crescent rolls. Marie Callender makes pumpkin pie. Priorities, woman! Now go spin! 😉

When I first noticed the “rules” I was expecting candy! Those were my mom’s rules when I was growing up. LOL

While I understand the pull toward the fiber, I’d rather be baking than working and am stuck at work…

I love your band aid box. We have had abuse issues with band aids before as well. I stopped buying all the fun kid ones because of it. That pretty much stopped the problem with my guys.

GOod luck with all the turkey day prep. I’m running out to the store for the last few things now. I’m a little scared of what it will be like there once I get there! EEK!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

    Your son is so big!

So…how do you *almost* come home with a loom? 😉

I’ve just started spinning and understand what you’re up against! I love it and your new fiber would pull me from anything else…if it helps, most of us are way behind in preparations for thanksgiving too.

We are doing Thanksgiving out of a box this year. Box of stuffing, can of collard greens, box of mashed potatoes, etc. I used to do it all from scratch but now I realize that my husband and kids don’t really care. I am cooking a real ham, though. That is the one item that we all look forward to because we only bake a ham twice a year.

Anyway, enjoy your meal and your day. I know from reading your blog that you have a lot to be thankful for.

What a brilliant idea for the bandage abusers! I should implement your idea at my house; we have the exact same problem! : )
