Grounded

I had my first physical therapy appointment this morning. Chris said that I am very inflamed, and would be a good candidate for the steroid shots. He also said that my left arm is much worse than my right. He did some sound wave stuff, and then massaged and pushed on it for the rest of the time. I brought my guitar, in case he wanted to see how I was holding it and such, and…

I can’t play it. At least until my appointment next week, but I’m sure it’ll be longer than that. I’m sad. I’m in the middle of writing another song, and it was going really well.

I didn’t even bring up knitting :-). Not that I’m doing much right now, my fiber time is more spent on spinning and dyeing right now. Speaking of, I have some bombyx and some tussah noil soaking to dye.

So, I have to ice my arm a lot. Do some mild stretches, and we’ll see what he says next week.

I’m closing up my guitar, and will try my bestest not to cheat.

Sigh.

I’m sorry to hear this 🙁 That really stinks. I hope you can muddle through somehow.

I don’t know if you are on Ravelry or at all interested, but the owner of the Lamb’s Ear Yarn shop in Tacoma is looking for local indie dyers of yarn & fiber to stock in her shop – she has a thread on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/lambs-ear-yarn/248282/1-25#4
I saw it and thought of you and your recent dyeing experiments and your forced downtime (not that you don’t already have enough on your plate) so I thought I would mention it. She says “There’s no risk, no minimums. You can offer as much or as little as you’d like. I’m interested in hand dyed yarns in any amounts and weights. Also hand dyed fibers, carded fibers, that sort of things.”

I’m sorry you have to put your guitar away for little while and that your arms still hurt. 🙁 I know that must be really disappointing. Glad to hear that Veronica’s okay though.
BTW, I hear that silk soaks up dye really fast so be sure the dye is well distributed before adding the vinegar or citric acid or it will dye all in one spot. Hope to see you this weekend at spinning!

Oh man…I’m sorry to hear that. But trust me…it will go by fast and your arms will be much more thankful for it in the long run. I’m having the same problem with my knee. I want to do so much but have to take it slow. You don’t want to do any serious damage and not be able to play at all…That’s not so fun. Take it easy and ice it a lot. It makes a huge difference 🙂

I’ve had trouble with inflamation lately too and got a pile of herbs/supplements to take. I’ve been on it 2 days, so I’ll give it a week and see if it has made a difference, and then if you’re interested I’ll send you the list. You’re dyeing sounds like fun – I’d love to try it sometime.
