Health Group- Year 2, week 3

Greetings from Eugene, Oregon! The Black Sheep gathering is fabulous. At this point, I’m really glad I brought my own healthy food, since the only options here are curly fries and hamburgers.

Getting to it: on Monday, I did 45 minutes of treadmill and physical therapy. That’s it for official exercise for the week, but down here at the gathering, I have been walking constantly, so that counts for something.

I finally feel like I’m at 100% energy-wise, and have high hopes for next week.

How about the rest of you?

Well, I’ve been doing pretty good this week, but today I just came from a birthday party with Costco pizza (yuck, but I ate 2 slices) and cake (I ate way too much of that too). I hope I can make it up tonight or tomorrow!

Monday was the only day that I exercised this week. I’ve been Miss Cranky Pants this week, and I know myself well enough to know that it is best to let myself wallow for a few days. I did that and now I’m ready to get back to work.

I lost another two pounds this week, and finally it is getting easier to cut my toenails!! Previously, the effort of leaning over my big belly made toenail cutting a real effort. It will be nice when no one asks me, at my age, haha, if I am expecting! The old potbelly is getting smaller, and my pants are all hanging longer.I am really wondering why the husband doesn’t say anything. He has told me before that he can always tell when I have gained or lost 5 pounds. So why doesn’t he say anything about 22 pounds?? A few years ago, I had my wedding ring stretched. Now it’s looking like I will have to have it shrunk!
Oh yeah, Thanks Gayle (do I have that right?) about the face masks! Those ones from the hardware store are awful. They leave huge creases on my face that take a while to go away. I find that as I get older, I become more sensitive to all sorts of things. I opened a bag of rubber markers for the lace I am working on, and the smell of rubber set off my asthma! Jeeesh!!!

Jenny, glad I could help. I know exactly what you mean. My allergies triggered some nasty things this week and I have used my inhaler more this week than usual. I was just thinking, too, that for the first time in my life, I am leaving my house without an inhaler in hand and not worrying about it. That is new. Although, I will have to be watchful of the pollen counts and such, I think this week was excessive dust from cleaning house.

Laura, hope you are having fun at the FiberFest! I am sure you are. Good idea about bringing your own food!!! Good job!

I am excited to report I was at 200.5 lbs this morning! I didn’t measure but I think I will tomorrow. I am so excited! I feel better than I have, mentally, physically and spiritually , in a long time and the loss of a little weight has really encouraged that.

Art left for Chelan Friday morning, but before he did, he dug my bicycle out of the garage. It needs a little work, but I am looking forward to using it again. I am sure I will remember how soon.

Hope you have fun at the gathering, Laura!

I’m doing well, again a kilo down from last week and I haven’t been feeling faint anymore. This weekend I’ve been eating too much fat and sugar, though, as it was Midsummer Eve on Friday and we visited my parents, and today (Sunday) we were at my housemate’s parents’ house…
