Health Group- Year 2, week 6

We’re taking a quick break from reading Harry Potter 6 to post, eat, and attend to the children. So I’ll be brief…

Basically, I did treadmill twice, physical therapy three times, and weights once this week. I’m having such a hard time being consistent. I am fluctuating with my diet as well. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s awful. I’m gaining weight, argh, and I’m always hungry. To answer the next, inevitable question,

No, I am not pregnant. That seems to be a favorite question among my friends! So, as usual, I’m going to try to do better next week.

I do feel frustrated at the weight gain. I don’t think it’s warranted. Gotta do better.

I feel the same way. Everyone is telling me that it is the exercise, that muscle weighs more than fat and that you get hungrier after exercising. Hopefully it will turn around soon for you and I

    Have a great week!

Yay for reading book 6! I think you’ll like it, e me when you’re done and we can talk about it.
As for your weight gain, it is normal to be hungrier after exercising, wanting to eat more. Have you tried eating something with protien before working out?

Thanks. I’ve been particularly glum and pessimistic. I’ll probably spend the weekend pouting, then approach next week with a refreshed outlook. At least, that’s what I’m going for.

I can’t be happy ALL the time. After awhile, I’d imagine you’d stop believing me :-).

Oh, and so far, book 6 is really cool.

Just finished HP6. Wow. Must sleep. Take care.

Despite having HP6 in my hands since 11a yesterday, I have only read the first two chapters. I guess I’m afraid of finishing it too quickly and then having withdrawals!

I will be getting back in the swing of healthy things this week. My husband renewed his commitment last week so it should be easier for me without him bringing home tempting treats.

I lost that last pound this week, so now I have reached my first goal of 25 pounds. I am lucky that I lost any weight this week at all. My asthma is still major trouble for me. I was just about ready to go to the emergency room earlier this week. As a result, I am now on prednisone. One of the side effects of prednisone is weight gain!! Just the sort of thing that you want, huh?? And, I am still having trouble so my doctor extended the length of prednisone therapy. Yikes!! Well, we know there always seems to be something! I went to the dentist’s earlier this week, anticipating some exciting reactions to my weight loss from the girls who work there. Not. a. word. The dentist did say that he noticed I got my hair cut, and it’s the new me!! At least, he thought a haircut was what was different!

Ooh, I just got HP6 as well and can’t wait to read it – With poor timing, I had just started another book and since I tend to get things muddled, I don’t read more than one at a time. I am planning to take my time with it though since I really enjoyed the other books and always feel a little sad when I get to the end of a good one. Fortunately, two more of my favorite authors are coming out with new books this year!

I have so been looking forward to this post, even if it is already Monday…

I broke a major barrier this week!!! I hit 198!!! UNDER 200! I haven’t been here in years! I believe that was on Monday. I was at 197 by the weekend. The other AMAZING thing was that I have one of those “body fat” scales. I have been at 48% or 47% body fat for over 4 years now. I am at 40%!!!! That is a major change!!!

Jenny, PLEASE don’t get discouraged!!! I have been on prednisone so many times. I have asthma, I so understand. I would love to talk or email you. If you are on a “pred-burst” for 8 days or 2 weeks, you aren’t facing the huge issues that prednisone can cause with weight gain. I’m not saying it can’t effect a pound or two, but I was on 60mg for over 6 months consecutively, and all told at high dosages for over 2 years. Believe me when I say I have an understanding of your fear. (This dosage was NOT due to asthma, but something completely different) So hang in there, OK? If you want to talk, ask Laura for my email address or phone # and get better soon!!!

All told, I have lost 29 pounds from my heaviest point. 11 of which I have lost in the last few months. The weird thing is, my diet is OK, but not spectacular.

Ah, fyrkrkr, but you are exercising more regularly now than you have the whole time I’ve known you!
