I managed to wind a ball of Angora!

Although while it was spinning, I had to avert my eyes. :-). This means I’ve started swatching for I Do.

I’m still painfully sick. My internet shy neighbor brought me some saltine crackers, Sprite, and Gingerale last night. Thanks so much. It’s all I’ve consumed since. Although I’m craving enchiladas. Mmmmm. I’m not sure I could actually eat them, but still, mmmmmmm.

There was some talk in the comments and subsequent emails from yesterday about baby knits with Koigu. If I were to do a knit-along for the baby, that’s what appeals to me. Little ribbed baby hats, little socks. Little sweaters. Baby blankets. All in Koigu. That’s what I’m dreaming about. Secondly, I love the Dale of Norway baby patterns. Particularly all that lovely Fair Isle. What do you think?

Koigu……… yummy – and I haven’t thought about pairing it with baby knits. Good idea, especially for little hats.

Dale Fair Isle is cool, too. They have some awesome baby knits.

For some reason though something is making me hold off on any sort of baby knits – that’s frightening. Maybe I have too many UFOs.

I am certainly excited at the prospect of making something for YOU!!! However, personally speaking & given my history, I think socks would be a very BAD choice. Unless, of course, I made them in a size to fit, say a 5 year old???

Ha ha! Hope you get to feeling well enough to enjoy being baby-sick soon!

    Love, Gayle

Oh, I would LOVE to knit up some Koigu baby goodies for you! I have a rainbow-y skein that I just acquired from Heather of Pixiestikz, and nothing in mind to use it for, so baby stuff would be great!!

I made a Dale baby set for my new granddaughter (not Fair Isle) but am making her a Dale Fair Isle for Christmas. I love their patterns, but getting gauge is a stinker! They’re fairly tight. I noticed that the model at my LYS was not knit to gauge either (I measured!). At least they come out larger and babies do grow. Congratulations – hope you feel better soon. Love Koigu!

I want to see an I Do made from that yummy yarn!

I love Koigu, but I think making ANYTHING for a baby that has to be handwashed is insanity-inspired, at best. I’ve already returned two store-bought blankets (both white, because we refuse to tell mother-in-law the gender and she keeps refusing to get anything other than white, yellow or green because “what if I get something blue and it’s a girl?”) because they were gentle-cycle only, and we live in an apartment complex that doesn’t HAVE gentle cycle on its machines in the laundry room.

another vote for koigu baby KAL – I still think of Grace as my baby… so what if she’s a size 5 baby 🙂

I adore the Dale patterns though haven’t tried Fair Isle – no time like the present…

And if you ever need them, I have lots of *tips* for curbing being sick while pg… I had hyperemesis when I was pregnant with Grace so the normal crackers and gingerale did nothing for me – but there were a few other things that did help…

I’m just so happy for you!
