That cracked me up.
Last weekend was extremely busy. The jewelry/Christmas party was very fun and very well attended. The peppermint brittle was divine, however there is a modification I’d make in the future, mainly adding more rice crispies.
I am very tired, and my stomach isn’t being nice to me. I threw up yesterday morning, and that hasn’t happened in quite awhile. I’m not feeling so great right now either. I wonder what I could eat that WOULDN’T make me sick.
As for knitting… I was too busy to touch anything over the weekend. I picked up my Interlocking Balloons scarf this morning, and I don’t think there’s the slightest chance of getting it done by Thanksgiving, which was my goal. So instead, I might just make a bunch of Esther Williams Hats.
The list of people that want one is growing rapidly. My sisters-in-law that are Cookie Lee consultants are giving me jewelry to make their hats. So they move up on the list. :-).
I promised that today I would announce the start and end date of the knitalong, Synchronized Knitting.
Link the button (another of Nate’s fab creations) to Friday’s post please, so I don’t get a ton of emails asking where to find the pattern.
Well, how ’bout we start today, and end December 16th? That’s almost 4 weeks. Sounds good to me. Let me know if you’re in. As of now, I have-

Hello! I’d like to be part of the knitalong, but I will probably not get started until after I’m done with classes (Nov. 30th), since knitting is low on my list with all the papers they’re making me write!!! But please sign me up – I love the pattern 🙂

Here’s an update on my Cable Eight. I finally have the back done and I’ve started on the front. Yay! It’s taking me forever. It’s a learning experience. It will be my first sweater thingy, whatever it would be called. I’ve never made anything wearable besides shawls, hats, and scarves. Y’all enjoy the knitalong for the hat. I will be looking forward to seeing all the pictures! 🙂

I’m going to try to do this as a stash-buster. Do you know if you had leftovers from your skein of Lamb’s Pride? About how much leftover? Thanks for any info!!

Katie- good question. Yes, you slip them purlwise, except when you’re decreasing, but in the decreases, it says specifically to slip them as if to knit.
Danielle- According to my kitchen scale, I had 1 ounce of yarn left, and the hat weighed 3 ounces exactly. Lamb’s Pride is a 4 ounce skein, so it uses 3/4 of a skein. Which if you convert to yardage, should be 142.5 yards.

OOOh, me too! Me too! I forgot to check back with thanksgiving preparations and all, but I’m going to run right now and find some cotton that will work for my so cal climate. I probably have some Lambs Pride somewhere but my little ones always rip labels off for me, making knitting just that much more challenging!
I think you’re amazing, btw.
