Health Group- Year 2, week 45

Hello all! I’m doing very well. This week has been busy. Abigail was baptized this morning, my mom is in town and staying with us, and we had a very large family luncheon at our house this afternoon following the baptism. About half of Nate’s family hadn’t seen the new house yet, so it was fun to have them all here.

Whew! Now that that’s over, I might actually get some rest!

Clark is doing very well. I’m feeling great, aside from the waves of fatigue and sleepiness. I’m being as sensible as I can, doing what needs to be done slowly, and sitting/resting as much as I can.

Health Group-

I’ve been cutting down my sugar/candy consumption this week, and have decided to avoid fast food. I’m not much of a fast food consumer as it is, but I’m going to make efforts to do it even less. It feels good. I’m still having difficulty drinking a lot of water. I used to love it, but I’m fighting with it right now.

My original goal was to start exercising next week, but after all the excitement of this last week, I’m not going to push myself. I’m really tired. But I might start some of the easier toning exercises I learned at my physical therapy sessions.

The flabby abs are starting to bug me.

Tell me your news!

Not much news from my corner. I’m a little bummed that my husband didn’t buy the treadmill on Friday. I just knew that if we put it off, something would happen to suck up the money that we set aside for the purchase. Guess what? I broke a tooth yesterday :-(. Dental work is going to trump treadmill, I guess.

My goal was to do ab work everyday. I started with 50 and have worked up to 60 crunches. Since abs can be worked everyday, the end goal is undetermined 100?, 200?, who knows.

I’m also doing push ups every OTHER day. I’m doing 30. Once I hit 50, I’ll move to doing them on the floor on my knees.

I’ve been taking the Aleve religiously and worked in the backyarn pulling weeds, pruning and plantings. That’s got to count for something, right?

Good choice on skipping the fast food. I lost 5lbs since February by just not eating it anymore. Bad, bad news. If you are just starving and need to get FF, skip the fries. That’s what does you in.

I’m down to pre-pregnancy size/weight, thanks to nursing & upping my water intake, but I’m nowhere NEAR toned. I’ve been using Andy as my own little free weight (he’s nearing 20 pounds, the chunker!), putting him on my shins & doing leg presses while holding his hands, doing push-ups while he’s on his back (kissing him on the forehead on the down-strokes), crunches with him leaning against my knees, squats while holding him straight out, etc. and I’m getting better (I have biceps that didn’t exist before…now to work on the tricep waddle), but I’m 23 years old, I should NOT get winded after 10 squats holding the baby!

Congrats Abigail! Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday to Olivia too! No exercise here except for the crazy cleaning bug that’s taken over my body. Baby is doing well and I’m not gaining too much weight so that’s good. 🙂 Next month I get to do the ultrasound!

I have internet now! And…..I am so excited for you and your family – house – and everything you’re doing!
    I love you

I think I am losing something! Things are looser again and the thing that really got my attention was that I could remove the ring on my right hand without lotion or soap. That’s a first. I still had to wriggle the skin, but I don’t mind, I don’t want the ring falling off!
I’ve been swimming and sort-of doing my PT exercises. (at least I’m honest)
As for “flabby abs” – my PT guy showed me the best, simplest stuff. I can’t believe how much I felt after just a few minutes! NO severe crunches, no straining. Focus, lots of focus. I’ll have to show you. ANYBODY could do them! I can actually believe that underneath all this fat there are still some “muscle fibers” aching to come back to life!
