Getting toned

My beautiful sister is getting married in August. She has spent many, many hours diligently looking for a pretty, modest bridesmaid dress that won’t break the bank, that we her bridesmaids would like enough to wear again. And she finally found one.

I am very excited. I like it a lot. The problem is that I need to order it soon, and I’m only 5 weeks postpartum. My waist is not it’s normal proportion to my hips. I don’t want to order a dress any larger than I HAVE to just to accommodate flabby baby abs that may or may not still be flabby in August.

Pout.

So I need to call them and ask how much $ they charge for a rush fee, and how much time it will buy me.

And I need to tone, tone, tone. Fortunately, I have already started that.

I think that the dress is wonderful and I have found that Victoria Secret has many items that help me look like I do many more crunches than I actually do…

That’s a beautiful dress! I know what it’s like to feel your dilhemma. I was a bridesmaid in a good friend’s wedding only 3 months after Nathan was born. I also had to buy it very early, so I ordered it a bit large and had it altered around the top since my stomach was still poochy. I was recovering from a c-section so unfortunately I wasn’t able to do any crunches. I still looked nice in the dress, but I’m sure you’ll look much better than I did!

That is a really neat dress!

That is a great dress! I love the color. Um, if you ordered it now, could you have it altered if you lose weight and it’s too big? That might be cheaper than rush ordering it, I’m not sure.

awesome dress! I think you should order it now because otherwise, you will not be in the same dye lot. I don’t think everyone else will want to rush order later on and I think it will be cheaper to alter than pay rush and look off. I did a last minute bridesmaid dress once when I was a kind and I definately looked “off.”

    That’s gorgeous! Lucky you!!
My friend who sat beside me just asked,”that’s not knitted, right?”

Hi there! started reading your blog a little while ago (can’t even remember how I came upon it) but have not posted a comment yet.

The dress is beautiful, but I agree with the folks who say order it now…you will have to have some alterations no matter what and you can have it taken in here and there. If you wait, you may not have time for alterations at all – or worse, be paying for rush alterations on top of rush delivery. Just order now with your current measurements and start researching a great tailor. It will be a bit pricey, but definitely worth feeling great in the dress. I had to do the same thing for my sister’s wedding. I was swimming in the dress when it came in and had to take it in all around…it looked great.

Aside from that, I have really been enjoying reading your blog…I love your sense of humor : )

That dress is beautiful I wore one the same color and a similar style as my sister’s bridesmaid. It looks great with the cross around the middle. Don’t worry it will look great on you. By the way Clark is way too cute! He will be the perfect future husband for my 6 month old Lana. LOL
