Done with the monkeys

image

Fun pattern, Monkey Socks from Knitty. Koigu. Size 2, knitpicks circular needles.

I’m doing laundry today and knitting some clogs. When they’re done, I’m going to wind my first ever skein of Socks that Rock into a ball and cast on for the Uptown Boot Socks from the Winter 2003 issue of IK. At least, that’s the plan.

And to my friend that has just discovered Koigu and sock knitting at my hand, and has acquired more Koigu than me in the last week, I’m very, very sorry for that link. Rather, I’m sorry for Tim. :-).

Nice monkeys! I may have to give that pattern a try!

I agree with Carrie. They’re so wonderful, I’ll need to make that the next sock pattern that I knit for myself. Lately, I’ve been knitting sock gifts.

I love the monkeys! I might have to make me a pair. I have some koigu around here as well….but I must say..I too just broke down and got my first skein of STR. I have admired a friends for a long time and it knits up like the koigu but is superwash…which I think makes it even better. I just hate that I have to order it instead of being able to see it in person because it doesn’t always match the pic on the site….such is the nature or hand dyed right?

And to your friend….one can *never* have too much koigu.

So great to see you knitting again. How does it feel? Hope your feeling better-spring is almost upon us, and maybe all the little diseases will die off! Can’t wait to see the clogs…..

Koigu sounds like wonderful yarn to knit with. Love the monkey socks too, their great, and I cant wait to see what the boot socks look like too.

You are very very mean. I now have to save up to buy this yarn. Its the most beautiful colors ever. I must knit more to convince my husband I need more yarn.
I have to finish the last hot pink monkey sock to start playing with the koigu. I tried to convince him I needed to make a skirt with it, he didn’t like the number of skeins needed. Oh well. Leg warms, socks, scarves, hats, gloves, blankets, and kids stuff (:
