Evelyn’s new shawl

I’ve been haunting the Fiber Trends site to see when Evelyn Clark’s latest shawl pattern is released, and it’s available now.

I saw the shawl in person at the Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat in January, and talked with Evelyn a little about it. It is stunning. Simple, but absolutely beautiful, and she said that it would probably be called the Angel Shawl or something.

Well, the Angel Lace Shawl has been released, and I have to say, the picture is all wrong.

This picture would not entice me to buy or knit this shawl. It doesn’t even look like the shawl that I remember. I will probably buy it anyway, because the shawl I remember is so very pretty. I highly recommend it if it’s the shawl I saw, but really, the picture is so different…

Birthday party #2 went very well, and even better than that, it’s over. I’m going to sleep. Tomorrow, I’m going to clean up the mess that is my house, and I’m going to spin.

Do you think it is the same shawl, then? Or is it bad photography/bad blocking? It is funny how knitware responds differently under different conditions, but I would think that a shawl knit in a solid color would at least LOOK like the same thing!

How exactly is it differnt? I haven’t embarked on lace knitting yet or shawl knitting for that matter. I just bought some lace weight from Knit Picks and am going to make the candle flame scarf from their site. I thought it would be a good starting point. But I do want to make a pretty and easy shawl. It looks pretty in the picture but nothing I would usually pick. I can’t wait to see if you make it or not and if it turns out to be as pretty as you remember. :o)

I hope you’ve had a few moments to just sit and relax…this month sounds unbelievably busy for you!!!!! Breathe Sista! Breathe!

Thanks for the recommendation. I found your sight while doing a search of this pattern. I want more details in the pictures. I know that many of the fiber trends marketing doesn’t provide too many close ups of the patterns. I will definitely give it a chance.
