One week old

(That’s a yawn).

Nate was on the computer the entirety of Saturday doing taxes and finances, hence, no Health Group post. But I talked to the nurse at my post-partum appointment at the hospital on Friday, and she said that I could probably start my physical therapy exercises in a week or two.

In the meantime, I’m going to sleep as much as possible.

Nights are getting a little bit better. The nice thing about Clark is that so far, he doesn’t cry inconsolably. I have memories of walking with the girls endlessly while they cried for no apparent reason. He doesn’t do that. I know that if nothing else, he’ll be happy suckling/nursing.

He’s getting more used to having his diaper changed and doesn’t scream the whole time anymore. Now he usually just complains in grunts which is quite funny sounding.

The girls are on Spring Break this week, and they’re chewing on the walls to get out of the house, so we’re going to go hang out with a friend of mine and her kids in a few minutes, and I think we’ll order some thai food for lunch.

Now that I can EAT again!

If any of you have Health Group news, feel free to post it here! I wanna hear it!

Hey! I want MY clothes to look baggy like that! I think he looks like Veronica too! What a sweetie-pie! Doncha wanna smoochie him all day!! My best friend from high school poppped in for an unexpected visit with her daughter, and her grandson. I have not held a 6 month old in , um, 18 and a half years!!!! What a wiggle worm! I had kinda forgotten! And they were so excited to see me that they let me change his diaper, haha!!
I am back on the “Rosedale ” diet, and have lost 4 pounds. One more to go, and I will be back where I was at the end of Nov.
I have even been able to stay on the treadmill for longer periods, like 45-60 minutes at a time, with an incline. It’s funny when I remember how I had to get used to one mph!
I’m with the girls, I want to go SOMEWHERE!!

  8. Holly Jo Says:

Speaking of changing diapers…have you been christened yet? Someone told me a huge difference between baby boys and baby girls is the number of times you are peed on. 🙂 I have two boys so all I have ever known is to watch out! 🙂

  9. Ryan Says:

The last time I dropped by your blog, you still had a big “tummy bump.” I come by again today–and the baby is a week old! Goodness! Either you need to slow down with the birthing process, or I need to visit your blog more often!

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Melissa Says:

    Oh, he is so DARLING!!!

  11. Katie Says:

Oh, he’s soooo cute! I saw the above comment about the pee and thought I’d share some diaper wisdom. (Wizzzdom, I suppose. Ugh.) With both boys I wasn’t able to entirely avoid the spray, but I would usually just have a stack of cloth diapers handy which I would place over the little guy as soon as the other diaper was open and remove just before closing the new one. Another helpful tip that the nurse at the hospital gave me was to be sure it’s pointing down before closing the diaper so nothing goes shooting out the top – I’m sure we avoided quite a few leaks that way. Hope that helps you keep things under control! Glad to hear you’re getting a bit of rest. 🙂
